Designer Chung will participate in the Asia Fashion Week 2011, in Thailand from July 5 to 17. The event will gather famous fashion designers from 15 Asian countries.

The Vietnamese designer will introduce two collections. The first is a collection entitled “Nguoi Luc Tinh” (People of Six Southern Provinces). This collection consists of 15 latest designs, which are inspired by the costumes of women in southern Vietnam in the past.

This is the first time Chung uses velvet, lace and silk to make costumes based on ba ba (traditional blouse of women in southern Vietnam). The costumes are supported by accessories made from manually-made timber beads, silk scarves and dried flowers.

“I hope that these designs will help introduce Vietnamese’s simple and close tradition to the world,” Chung said.

The second collection is named “Co Ba Xu Viet” (Vietnamese Lady), with also 15 costumes made by traditional Lanh A silk. This collection was previously introduced on the Fashion TV channel.

The event, entitled “Lua – Asian Heritage” will be aired lived on some TV channels in Thailand and Asia.
