VietNamNet Bridge – Phong Nha – Ke Bang Nature Reserves may be ruled out from the list of nominees of the world’s seven natural wonders by New Open World if the www.vietnamworders.co.cc website is not removed.

That was the warning issued by New Open World last week, which contends that the www.vietnamwonders.co.cc website campaigns for this park in the new world seven natural wonder poll.

New Open World said the information offered on this site is contrary to its rules and asked Vietnam to remove it.

The Campaigning Board for Phong Nha – Ke Bang sent a letter to the New Open World to confirm that the website has no relationship with the board. The board also asked the owner of that website to close it down.

This website has since removed its link to the New Open World’s website and information related to Phong Nha – Ke Bang. Phong Nha – Ke Bang had earlier completed formalities for the new seven world natural wonder poll.

Vietnam currently has three sites participating in the poll: Ha Long Bay, Phong Nha – Ke Bang Nature Reserves and Fansipan Mountain. The poll was launched by the New Open World organization, which is based in Switzerland and managed by Swiss billionaire Bernard Weber.

In April, Ha Long Bay was ousted from the poll owing to the same reason while Phong Nha – Ke Bang and Fansipan Mountain were rejected for not completing formalities and not having official support committees. After these mistakes were corrected, the three sites were added to the poll again.

The NewOpenWorld’s poll will run for 3-4 years, in three phases. In the first phase, from July 2007 to August 8, 2008, 77 landscapes were chosen. In the second phase, experts will shorten the list to 21. In the third phase, the world will vote for the 21 nominees to proclaim the new 7 natural wonders of the world.
