On the tenth day of the first lunar month, “Con di danh bong”, a folk dance of hundreds of years old, is performed at the festival of Trieu Khuc village in Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi.

The festival takes place from the 9th to 12th of the first lunar month at the village temple, where unique rituals are held to worship King Phung Hung. The most special thing at the festival is the dance called “Con di danh bong”, one of the ten invaluable dances of Hanoi.

This tradition was resumed several years ago. It is unique because dancers are men who disguise themselves as girls.

Other ancient dances are also performed, including sinh tien dance, unicorn and dragon dances.
