Wind power plant for Binh Dinh

The People’s Committee of
the central province of Binh Dinh has approved a detailed plan to build the
Phuong Mai 1 wind power plant in the Nhon Hoi Economic Zone.


According to the plan, the plant
will cover 142 hectares and will have 12 turbines and a total capacity of
30MW.


The project is scheduled to begin
construction work in the second quarter of this year and is expected to
generate power by the first quarter of next year.

VOV wins prize for
environment radio report

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment
has presented awards to the winners of the first media contest on natural
resources and environment.

Since the launch in February 2010, organizers have received 320 entries for
the categories of television, radio, print and online newspapers.


The entries are of high quality, lively reflecting reality, said Chu Pham
Ngoc Hien, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment.


Two prizes A (first prizes) went to a series of articles of the Tuoi Tre
(Youth) newspaper and a TV report from Vietnam Television.


VOV won a prize C for the ‘forum on social affairs’ by author Le Hang. No
prizes A and B were granted for radio and online news submissions.


At the awards ceremony, Le Van Hop, an official of the Ministry of Natural
Resources and Environment, officially launched the 2011 media competition under
the theme ‘Toward the 10th anniversary of the natural resources and
environment sector’.
