Vietnamese expats living in France can now watch one of Vietnam Television’s (VTV) channels by subscribing to France’s Free TV.

A VTV representative said VTV4, the channel targeting overseas Vietnamese, began broadcasting this week along with 220 other channels on Free TV through the asymmetric digital subscriber line.

The viewers don’t need to equip themselves with a separate parabolic antenna to use the service.

VTV4 broadcasts eight hours a day in French, English and Vietnamese. The broadcasts will be repeated in a cyclical format to reach viewers 24 hours a day.

Free TV belongs to the Free Telecom Company under France’s Iliad Group, a major player in the Internet and telecommunications markets in France.
