A
National Young Fine Arts Festival will be held to find works that reflect
contemporary life, the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition
announced yesterday, June 8.

Artists between 18-35
are invited to submit art in the following styles: installation, video, body,
performing, sculpture, graphic and painting, department director Vi Kien Thanh
said.

“In the recent time,
Vietnamese fine arts has developed,” Thanh said.

“Young artists have
potential; they are creative, educated, eager to learn about contemporary art
and willing to sacrifice for art.

“This is an occasion
to find excellent artworks and to grant prizes to support promising artists.”

The department is
co-operating with Viet Nam Fine Arts, Thua Thien-Hue city Literature and Arts and HCM
City Fine Arts associations to organise the event.

Submissions must be
with the organising board by August 25.

The festival will take
place on November 10-20 at Viet Nam Culture and Arts Exhibition Centre, Hoa Lu
