Vampires have apparently become perennial favorite characters with the youngsters as a “Twilight” sequel dominated this year’s Teen Choice Awards nominations announced Wednesday.

“The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” the third installment in the vampire-themed “Twilight” series, won 11 nominations, including one for the choice sci-fi/fantasy movie and three for the choice sci-fi/fantasy movie actor and actress.

Also featured prominently on the list is “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1,” which garnered nominations for, among others, the choice sci-fi/fantasy movie and the choice sci-fi/fantasy movie actor and actress.

Nominees in the all-important “liplock” category include Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson from “Eclipse,” Stewart and Taylor Lautner from “Eclipse,” Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson from “Harry Potter” and Mila Kunis and Natalie Portman from “Black Swan.”

As a prominent Hollywood A-lister, Johnny Depp is also a big nominee for his acting in three blockbusters, namely “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” “The Tourist” and “Rango.”

The Teen Choice Awards, presented annually by the U.S. Fox channel, is aimed at honoring the hottest teen icons in film, television, music, sports and fashion.

Online voting for this year’s awards began Wednesday for anyone aged 13 to 19, and the awarding ceremony is scheduled for Aug. 7.
