VietNamNet Bridge – According to the results of a recent survey, among public services in the city, primary education proves to be the one that most satisfies the city’s residents.

In 2008, for the first time, primary education was included on this survey. On the 2006 survey, only seven sectors were surveyed: garbage collection, public transport (bus service), health care, land use right certificate granting, construction licencing, notarisation and tax collection from household business.

The 2008 survey shows that 74.8% of polled people in HCM City are satisfied with the quality of primary education. Only 2% of people said they were not satisfied, while the others were neutral.

HCM City is famous throughout the country for introducing initiatives in teaching methods for primary education.

According to Director of the HCM City Education and Training Department Huynh Cong Minh, the teachers in the city, not only in primary schools, but in all schools, have been standardised. Minh said that the city’s teachers have requisite morality and professionalism, and receive regular training to improve their abilities and knowledge.
