On the ASEAN's 50th anniversary (8/8/1967 - 8/8/2017), Danang, together with Ninh Binh and Thanh Hoa, coordinated with Center for Press and International Communication Cooperation (CPI) and Department of International Cooperation in Ministry of Information and Communications, will organize the third ASEAN Exhibition. This city is also chosen to be the host in this event.

According to the department of information and communications, to ensure the best services and information for visitors this year, the event can be considered to hold in end of May to middle of June. This is also the International Fireworks Festival 2017 as well as other activities take place in Danang. The Danang International Fireworks Festival will also be held in the city between April 30th and June 29th before hosting the 2017 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit on November 7-11.

The Danang Museum, where was built on the old location of the Dien Hai Citadel under the Nguyen Dynasty in 1802-1860 in the 19th century, also preserves a collection of 11 cannons unearthed at the citadel from 1979-2008. It covers on 3,000sq.m, is home to 2,500 objects, photos and documents on the culture of Danang and neighbouring central provinces.

The central city’s information and communications department said the exhibition which was held in Vietnam in 2015 and 2016  will feature 300 photos and 100 films and documents on land, people, environmental protection, climate change and nationalities in the ASEAN community.

After the exhibition, all photos, films and DVD will be offered Danang People's Committee to continue diffusing ASEAN community at other places in the city.
