Ha Chuong was born in a poor farming family in Quang Ngai and lost his eyesight at the age of 2. By age of 5, Chuong learned to sing many folk songs. He studied at the Nguyen Dinh Chieu school for blind students in Da Nang, where he had a chance to study music and to play dan bau (Vietnamese monochord).

Chuong won a gold medal for playing dan bau at a contest in Quang Nam province and two gold medals for singing and playing dan bau at national competitions for the disabled, plus many more awards.

In 2006, Chuong passed an entrance exam to enter the National Conservatory of Music. He won many prizes for singing, songwriting and playing dan bau at professional music contests in Vietnam. He is the first blind singer and musician who releases albums in Vietnam.

He started writing his own songs at the age of 15, including his first, “The Light of My Life”, which touched the hearts of many people.

His first album, “The Gift of Wave,” was released in late 2005. The second came in 2007 and the third was introduced early this year.
