Backstreet Boys arrives in Vietnam, ready for concerts

Backstreet Boys, one of the biggest teen-pop groups of the 1990s and 2000s, arrived in Ho Chi Minh City around noon Monday, ready for their first-ever shows in Vietnam this week.

 

Two shows will be held in Ho Chi Minh City-based Military Zone No.7 Stadium Thursday, and in Hanoi’s My Dinh National Stadium two days later.

According to Water Buffalo Productions (WBP), the event organizer, around 55,000 tickets are expected to be sold for the band’s “This Is Us” concerts in Vietnam. Ticket’s prices range from VND500,000 (US$25) to VND2 million ($100).

Hitting the music scene in 1997, Backstreet Boys has many of their greatest hits enjoying wide popularity in Vietnam.

 

The group is now teaming up with another boy band, New Kids on the Block, to form a supergroup known as NKOTBSB, which will tour the world this summer.
