A one-week Indonesian cultural festival, kicked off on April 17 at the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural House, drawing large crowds.

Organized, jointly, by the Indonesian Consul-General and the Ho Chi Minh City Friendship Organizations Union, the festival highlighted the country’s cultural diversity.

Participants gathered at the house learned how to make Indonesia’s traditional dish, Gado-Gado, studied a class on the national costume Batik and playing time-honored music instruments like Angklung or Saron.

The festival also features a presentation of traditional games, national costumes and Dayak dances from Eastern Kalimantan.

Visitors to the festival will have a chance to sample the island nation’s delicacies.

The HCMC Youth Cultural House is located at located at 4 Pham Ngoc Thach Street, District 1.

The festival will wrap up on April 25.
