First runner-up of the Miss Jewelry Contest 2009, Phan Thi Huong Giang, will represent Vietnam at this year’s Miss Global Beauty Queen pageant.

 

The 21-year-old said that she is confident of doing well, having benefited from the experience of participating in the Miss Jewelry pageant and the Miss Vietnam World 2010 contest.

 

The Miss Global Beauty Queen contest this year will kick off on May 3 in Korea’s Seoul and wrap up on May 10. The finale will be held on Jeju Island.

 

Contestants from 60 countries will compete in several categories including evening gown, swimsuit and traditional costumes.

 

The pageant, first held in 2005, aims to raise funds for disadvantaged people and victims of natural disasters.
