"To Ho Chi Minh City with Love: A Social Sculpture," an exhibition by Phong Bui, will be held at the San Art gallery in HCMC from May 20 until June 30.

Phong Bui, who was born in Hue city, now works in New York City as an artist, writer, publisher and independent curator.

As a visual artist, his numerous installations have won the Award in Art from the American Academy of Arts and Letters and the Eric Isenbeurger Annual Prize for Installation from the National Academy Museum. His work has also been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions in the US, China, Greece and Italy.

Making his first visit to Vietnam in over 30 years, Phong Bui will transform the gallery space of San Art into a new spatial experience with a range of local artists.

Paintings, photographs, drawings, video, poetry and music by local artists will be featured but not in a conventional way.

San Art is located at 3 Me Linh Street, Binh Thanh District.
