Viet Nam had always attached importance to
strengthening friendly and co-operative ties with the Democratic People’s
Republic of Korea (DPRK) for the benefit of the two countries, said Prime
Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

Speaking
at a reception for newly accredited DPRK Ambassador to Viet Nam Kim Chang-il in
Ha Noi on May 25, Dung also affirmed Viet Nam had opposed the use of force in
international relationships and supports peace and stability on the Korean
peninsula.

He said
he hoped Ambassador Kim Chang-il would work closely with Vietnamese ministries
and departments to strongly promote trade and investment between the two
countries during his working term in Viet Nam.

Kim
Chang-il affirmed that he would do his utmost to further promote the friendly
and co-operative ties between the two countries.
