The Central Election Council announced Friday 500 people had been voted deputies of the 13rd National Assembly at the national elections held on May 22.

Of the 500 deputies, 42 are not members of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

According to the council, 122 deputies are female and 62 deputies are aged below 40.

Four of 15 candidates who nominated themselves were elected, and three of the four are businesspersons, it said.

Among 182 candidates nominated by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, 15 were rejected by voters.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong received the highest rates of votes, with 95.51 percent, 95.38 percent and 85.63 percent, respectively.

Of more than 62 million ballots for NA deputies, the turnout rate was as high as 99.51 percent.
