A mobile phone subscriber has suffered from disturbing calls from anonymous numbers for the past 6 months but telecom service provider MobiFone has yet to find a way to stop the phone tortures.

“I have sent 10 complaints to the office for help to stop calls made by a caller who did not say a word after I picked up the mobile phone, but I have received no response from the office,” said Mr. Vinh Thanh, subscriber of the number 090999…

On March 18, Mr. Thanh brought his phone to the office, asking for assistance from its technical staff as the phone number of the prankster(s) never displays on his phone screen.

While he was working with the office, a call was made to his phone. He answered the call and heard nothing from the other end of the line.

The call lasted for about an hour before it stopped, he said.

Tran Thi Thai Tran, who manages the Mobile office, said she had recorded the case and has instructed Mr. Thanh to lodge a complaint with the GSM Operator for assistance.

If incoming calls are made from outside the MobiFone network, the dealing with disturbing calls will take longer as it requires coordination between the GSM Operator with other relevant operators, Mrs. Tran said.

“And in such a case, it will be hard for us to help subscribers since a disturber can use different phone numbers,” she added.
