Vietnam’s Ministry of Construction has launched inspections into two works built for Hanoi’s millennial anniversary last year, VnExpress reported Wednesday.

Hanoi Museum, one of the country’s largest museums, and the 20-hectare-plus Hoa Binh (peace) park will be inspected within 30 days since the investigation was approved, according to the news website.

VnExpress said the ministry made the decision after several works at the VND282-billion (US$13.67 million)-park were found sinking several months after it was opened last October, raising concerns over other millennial construction projects’ quality.

To celebrate the capital’s 1,000th anniversary, Hanoi built various works, including the giant statue of Vietnam’s first president Ho Chi Minh and a VND200-billion ($10.3 million) building serving as the headquarters and central offices for the nation’s scientific, artistic and intellectual organizations.
