Authorities in Ho Chi Minh City said Tuesday they have fined a local home shopping company VND451.5 million (US$21,970) for selling smuggled and fake goods.

 

Under the decision issued by the HCMC People’s Committee, the Happy Shopping Company has also had its illegal goods confiscated and destroyed, including over 13,000 cosmetic products and As on seen TV products already registered for exclusive distribution by the Best Buy Company in Vietnam.

 

According to the HCMC Market Management Agency, the company was also guilty of other violations like employing a Chinese general director without license.
