VietNamNet Bridge – British coach Simon McMenemy on March 8 evening signed a two-year contract with Dong Tam Long An football squad.

His salary was not disclosed but McMenemy will work for Dong Tam for two years and his mission is improving the position of the team in the V-League.

The British coach said he came to Vietnam to join Dong Tam because Vietnam has many good players and that is the foundation for Vietnam to gain higher achievements in the region and the continent if it is well invested. Vietnamese clubs have attracted many foreign players from Africa, South America and Europe. “I would like to try myself here, to help Dong Tam play better,” he said.

Two days ago, McMenemy appeared at the Long An stadium to watch the game between Dong Tam and Binh Duong. Before the game, Dong Tam fired Brazilian coach Barbosa.

The British coach returned home on March 9 and he will return to Vietnam next week to start working with Dong Tam.
