Hanoi T&T took a 2-0 home win Wednesday (Mar 16) at the Hang Day Stadium over Victory SC of Maldives in their second game of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup.

It was a welcome win for the current V-League champions after their 0-4 away defeat to T-League champs Muang Thong United in their Group G opener on March 2.

Speaking at the press conference after the match, Victory SC coach Ali Suzain said his players tried hard but they couldn’t avoid the second loss after their 1-3 home defeat to Tampines Rovers FC from Singapore in their first game.

The Thai club is now on top of Group G, followed by the Singaporean team, each with four points after their 1-1 tie at Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore on Wednesday.

The Vietnamese representatives are in third place with three points while the Maldivian side languishes at the bottom with zero points.

Hanoi T&T will take on Tampines Rovers FC at Hang Day Stadium while Muang Thong United will clash with Victory SC at Thunderdome Stadium in Thailand in their third group stage match on April 12.
