Vietnamese instructor to train in Germany

Vu Dinh Son, an instructor with the Vietnam Athletics Federation (VAF),

has won a scholarship for a one-year training course at Johannes-Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany beginning this summer.

 

The German Embassy in Hanoi said on March 25 that the scholarship is part of a program organized by the German government to support the VAF.

The program began in Vietnam in 2009 and Dr. Uwe Freimuth, an athletics expert from the German Olympic Sports Confederation (Deutscher Olympischer Sportbund, has been working on it since. Freimuth works as a consultant and trainer for the VAF.

Son has become the third instructor to receive the scholarship for a training course in Germany. Two others were were trained in Germany in 2009.

The course includes a three-month “Instant German“ class and courses in athletics theory and practice.
