VietNamNet Bridge – The annual carnival in the northern coastal city of Ha Long (Quang Ninh province) this year will attract nearly 3,000 performers, including nearly 1,000 professional artists from Hanoi.

According to the organizing board of the Ha Long – Quang Ninh Tourism Week 2011, the highlight of the week (April 29 to May 2) will be the Ha Long Carnival, entitled “Discovering sparkling Ha Long”. The carnival will take place at 8 pm on May 1, at the Bai Chay tourism zone.

The carnival will have the participation of nearly 3,000 artists, divided into 15 troupes to perform different shows.

The organizing board said that around 9,000 seats will be installed to serve tourists.

Apart from the 90-minute light performance with the theme, “Ha Long By Night”, the first of its kind at the Ha Long Carnival, tourists will enjoy a special firework show on the evening of May 1.
