The businesses involved held talks with representatives from MoLISA’s Labour Management Department and the Overseas Labour Management Department in Ha Noi yesterday.

More than 10,000 Vietnamese guest workers in Libya have returned home early due to political instability in the country.

Of the firms offering jobs to returning guest workers, Khang Thong group has provided jobs to 10,000 workers – the highest number of jobs offered by any one firm – at Thanh Duc industrial zone in the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta province of Long An.

According to Le Quang Trung, deputy head of the Labour Management Department, employers have agreed to give monthly salaries of between VND3 million to VND20 million.

At the meeting, the Overseas Labour Management Department reported that Japan, Taiwan, South Korea and Malaysia had expressed interest in employing more Vietnamese workers.

The department added that most of the returning workers were involved in the construction sector.
