Mong Tuyen, a famous singer in Saigon in the 1960s, 1970s, will organize a show to celebrate her 40-year career in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho, her hometown.


The show, entitled “Mong Tuyen’s gratuity for the audience” will open for free. “I hope the audience will join me in this show so I can thank them and thank my hometown – Can Tho for giving me this career and supporting my family,” the singer said.

Mong Tuyen is the editor and director of her show.

Coming to the show, the audience will enjoy extracts from famous cai luong plays, performed by Mong Tuyen and well-known cai luong singers, including Le Thuy, Minh Vuong, Thanh Thanh Tam, etc.

On this occasion, the singer will present a house to a poor family in Can Tho.

“I’m very moved to have a chance to sing for people in my hometown,” Mong Tuyen said.

The singer has been living in France for nearly 20 years. She has returned home many times but she began singing at home two years ago.

The show will take place at Tay Do Theatre, Can Tho city on March 25. It will be aired live on Hau Giang Province television channel.

On March 15, she will join the “Everlasting Songs” show at the HCM City Theatre on March 15.
