VietNamNet Bridge – A newborn baby and a buffalo standing near a house in the mountains are simple evocations of life in photos by Hoang Quoc Tuan.

After 31 years working as a photographer, Tuan organized a photo exhibition and book entitled “Through the Window” and introduced them on March 20 at No 116-118 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, District 3, HCM City.

Tuan introduces 99 photos in the book and 60 photos at the exhibition. As well as pictures of everyday life, the photographer displays portraits of landscapes and nature.

“Through the Window” is Tuan’s first exhibition. Half of the revenue from pictures will be donated to Vietnam News Agency’s charity fund for kids. The artist also presented a set of 20 photos named “The Worries of Environment” to the fund.

In November 2009, with this set of photos, Tuan was granted the Master FIAP title of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP). He is the first Vietnamese artist to earn this title.

Tuan was born in 1958 in Saigon. He has won hundreds of prizes at home and abroad, including ACCU Award in Japan in 1999 for “Go Home”, the second prize of the Earth Vision competition in Japan in 2000 for “Childhood”, and a gold medal in France in 2000 for “Early Morning”.
