The Hanoi International Women’s Club (HIWC) will organize its eighth annual photo exhibition at Hanoi’s Sofitel Plaza Hotel this Saturday.

Titled “From the Traditional to the Avant-Garde: Capturing the Rhythm of Vietnam,” the exhibition will feature images of Vietnam taken by the club’s expatriate members living in Hanoi.

According to the organizer, this year’s theme is meant to challenge participating photographers to explore Vietnam’s quick pace of change and innovations in the arts and youth culture.

Prize-winning contemporary dance choreographer, Do Van Hien, will represent the young and innovative part of the exhibit.

Hanoi International Women’s Club, set up in 1986, is a non-profit club for expatriate women to provide support and networking opportunities.

With a membership of over

400 women from 50 different countries, HIWC has worked with organizations such as the World Health Organization, the National Fund for Vietnamese Children, and the Women’s Union to raise money for disadvantaged women and children in Vietnam.

The exhibition will be open to the public until October 4 for free.
