VietNamNet Bridge – Giving viewers a new look at photography in general and France’s photographic history in particular is the goal of an exhibition held by the French Cultural Centre and the Hanoi University of Art from October 2-12, 2008 in Hanoi.

“100xFrance – works make French photographic history” will present 100 photos copied from the original works at the French National Library, the d’Orsay Museum, Pompidou Centre in Paris, Georges Pompidou Art and Cultural Centre, Estate Brassai, and some personal collections.

Each photo is tied to a story about the photographer, French people and France. The organisers hope that each work will tell a story about France’s photographic art in a different way, the development of photographic techniques and the relationships between photography and other types of art.

The exhibition will open at 6pm, October 2, at the Hanoi University of Art, 42 Yet Kieu, Hanoi. A discussion will take place in the morning on October 9, also at the university.
