Established in October 2007, San Art is the only artist-run space in Vietnam with a dedicated forward program showcasing works by local and international contemporary artists.

Focused on nurturing the development of contemporary Vietnamese art, San Art has also continued to offer evening presentations by visiting artists, writers, curators and historians who have shared their personal experiences and knowledge with San Art’s ever-growing audience.

San Art is financially operated through private donation and external grants on a project-by-project basis, and most recently through small sale of exhibited works.

Save San Art: Fund Raiser in support of Vietnamese contemporary art is made possible through the support of established and emerging Vietnamese contemporary artists from home and abroad, whose works have been generously donated for this worthy cause. This exhibition aims to raise funds, through sale of work, to enable the future sustainability of San Art - as an exhibition platform, a reading room, as a facilitator and creative meeting place.

On September 18, from 6.00pm, San Art will hold an opening fund raising reception. This exhibition at San Art will be viewable from September 4-27.

The exhibition is a combination of various forms of contemporary arts such as photographic installation, multimedia, collage, video arts, etc.

Talking about the idea of “Saving San Art”, Le Quang Dinh said: “Raising funds for Vietnamese art can be realised thanks to the warm assistance of artists at home and abroad, who have generously presented their artworks for this noble idea. Our goal is using this money to support the operation of the San Art in the future as a gallery, a reading room, and a venue for art lovers.”
