The Hoa Sen quartet will perform in a concert next Tuesday during the “Contemporary Music Festival” in Ho Chi Minh City

A four-member female music group, the Hoa Sen Band, will captivate audiences in Ho Chi Minh City with chamber music next Tuesday at the Conservatory of Music.

They will play various Vietnamese and foreign pieces, including Mua (Rain), Nhung ki niem que huong (Home Memories), “Failing thoughts of memories” by American Dirk Johan Stromberg and “Suite” by Norwegian composer Geir Johnson.

Hoa Sen was initially formed in 2006 inHanoi, comprising four female members of the Vietnam Orchestra – violinists Le Hoang Lan and Dao Mai Anh, violist Tran Hoang Yen and cellist Tran Thi Mo.

The band has also held performances in Hanoi, HCMC and Tokyo, Japan.

The event is organized by the HCMC Conservatory of Music as a part of the second annual “Contemporary Music Festival” which will run until October 29.

The conservatory is located at 112 Nguyen Du Street in District 1.
