Pianists Denis Evesque (L) and Agnes Hubert-Evesque will give performances in Vietnam starting Saturday

The exotic style of piano four hands will be showcased at two concerts in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi this November.

The concerts will feature renowned works by great composers including Johannes Brahms, Franz Schubert and Emmanuel Chabrier, performed by pianists Denis Evesque and Agnes Hubert Evesque.

Denis Evesque, learned to play the piano with famous pianist Marguerite Long at the Paris Conservatoire. He started to play together with Hungarian Agnes Hubert-Evesque in 1978 and the duo has since toured many locations in Europe and the Middle East.

Piano four hands is a specific form of duet for a single piano with two players, pioneered by Johann Christian Bach, the youngest son of Johann Sebastian Bach.

The performance will take place on November 1 at HCMC’s Institute of Cultural Exchange with France (Idecaf), located at 28 Le Thanh Ton Street in District 1. In Hanoi, the duo will appear on November 5 at the Hanoi Opera House, located at 1 Trang Tien Street in Hoan Kiem District.

Free tickets are available at Idecaf and Hanoi’s French Culture Center (L’Espace) at 24 Trang Tien Street.
