“Silence – can it be embodied in images despite its belonging to the realm of the invisible? Silence is not merely the absence of sound; it is a state of being, a feeling, and sometimes, a form. In these photographs my ambition is not to show silence, but simply to evoke instances in which I have felt it. My way of better apprehending its variations,” said Consuelo.

Born in Chile, Consuelo settled down in France in 1980 - after having completed a doctorate in medicine in Valparaiso. She worked for ten years in the leisure sailing world. In 2001, she obtained a master’s degree in modern letters at the University of Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris.

Consuelo travelled and lived in various parts of the world (Portugal, the Antilles, and Turkey) and got her first reflex camera at the age of 18.

Since 2004, she is entirely committed to photography and the digital technique seduces her particularly as it allows her to influence all the steps of the creation. The world of words being another of her passions, she chooses to present her images with a text, in order to be sure to share the atmosphere in which she works.

Before coming to Vietnam, she had a series of personal and collective exhibitions in Istanbul, Turkey.
