Vietnamese gong artists to perform in RoK

| VietNamNet Bridge – “Gong” artists from Vietnam’s Central Highlands Kon Tum Province will perform at “Bucheon World’s Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition 2008” held in the Republic of Korea from Oct. 9-30.
The troupe plans to leave on Oct. 23 for the event, which includes performances, displays and conferences on the protection of intangible culture in the face of globalisation. The space of gong culture in Vietnam’s Central Highlands was recognised by UNESCO as a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity in November 2005. Hanoian bronze caster Nguyen Viet Lam will also display his works at this event. (Source: VNA) |
