German cellist Frank Wolff will perform an eclectic collection of music for Hanoi audiences tonight at the Goethe Institute.

The concert will feature masterpieces by great figures through music history from classical Johann Sebastian Bach to avant-garde John Cage and guitar hero Jimi Hendrix.

Wolff has reworked many of the pieces with an Asian-fusion sound to offer audiences a new listening experience.

For more than 50 years, the 63-year-old musician has performed around the world from Europe to America and Asia. He visited Vietnam for the first time in 1996.

Wolff has founded many musical projects and created the programs “Attacca” and “Shanghai-Show” in 2002 with the band Neuen Frankfurter Schulorchester.

Tonight’s concert starts at 8 p.m. at 56-58 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi. Entrance is free.
