VietNamNet Bridge – The HCM City administration has asked the local Stage Art Association to organize a camp for cai luong composing, collect cai luong-related exhibits, and resume the Tran Huu Trang awards for outstanding cai luong artists.

According to the HCM City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the city authorities requested the department to further promote the cai luong art (southern folk opera) and don ca tai tu (southern traditional music) to bring emphasis to the necessity of this art to the community.

Cai luong will be introduced on the HCM City Television Station’s channels and be taught at general schools in the city. The art will also be promoted in various programs.

The HCM City Youth Union is assigned to bring cai luong and don ca tai tu to youth in districts and wards, as well as to youth in industrial and export processing zones in the city.

The local authorities also requested that the HCM City State Association organize cai luong composing camps, collecting cai luong-related objects and resume the Tran Huu Trang Awards for outstanding young cai luong singers.
