Famed model Anh Thu said she couldn’t stop crying during a scene from Hoa thien dieu – a 30-episode TV series directed by Nham Minh Hien.

After reading the script, she said she felt overwhelming sympathy for a child in the story who is kidnapped by his own father.

The father also plays an indirect role in the death of the child’s mother.

“I couldn’t help crying seeing [the child’s] ruined family. I kept crying even after the scene was finished,” said Thu.

Model Xuan Thao, who plays a police investigator in the 50-episode series Luat giang ho (Underworld’ law), said she wasn’t afraid of looking unattractive when she played a fierce woman who makes a loud scene to help solve a crime.

She wielded a knife and shouted so loudly that she couldn’t speak for the next two days.

“To me, once you are involved in acting, you will never be able to quit,” Thao said.

“I feel proud even when I play a villainess or feel pain due to acting,” she added.

Another model, Trang Nhung, has even put herself in dangerous situations playing the role of a reporter in the 25-episode series Bao yeu thuong (The storm of love).

She and her partner, model-actor Huy Khanh, performed many of their own stunts involving a racing truck and a fall onto a rocky road as they tracked criminals.

“I [wanted] to act in some dangerous scenes to see how it really feels,” Nhung said.

“Professional stuntmen undertook the most dangerous parts but when shooting the close-ups, we did fall and roll on the road ourselves,” she added. “Scratches and bruises were common when shooting this film.”

Model Ngoc Quyen said her most impressive scene in the 30-episode series Tuyet nhiet doi (Tropical snow) was when she slapped fellow actor Anh Thu in the face.

“We played our roles (rivals in love) so well that Thu and I slapped each other hard across the face,” Quyen said.

Thanh Hang, one of Vietnam’s top models, had an unforgettable moment while shooting the 30-episode series Gia tai bac si (Doctors’ legacy), which airs on HTV9.

In the scene filmed at FV Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, Hang and Viet Anh were supposed to kiss each other passionately in a swimming pool.

Shooting the scene took longer than expected (from 6 p.m. until midnight) and Hang was left trembling from the cold water despite the candles, flowers and lanterns on hand to make the setting more romantic.

Anh embraced her according to the script, which she said helped her feel warmer.

“When we began shooting, I no longer felt cold or afraid. I projected my feelings into the scene and we kissed passionately,” she said.
