The Vietnam Art Museum, under the Spanish Embassy’s sponsorship, will organise a Joaquin Capa exhibition from November 14-18. The Spanish artist will also give a talk about contemporary art in the museum’s gallery (66 Nguyen Thai Hoc, Hanoi) on November 17.

Since their first visit to Vietnam in 1999, Joaquin Capa and his wife, Maria Luisa Sanz (also a painter who had an exhibition in Hanoi in 2007), have become close friends and teachers of Vietnamese artists.

Capa has combined with the Vietnam Art Association to organise classes and workshops on graphic painting for Vietnamese painters.

Besides classic techniques of metal engraving, he has also introduced special techniques using water, colourful inks, sugar, etc.
