VietNamNet Bridge - November will be the Month for Documentary Films at the Ho Chi Minh City-based Institute for Cultural Exchange with France (Idecaf).

The event was kicked off by a film entitled “Seeking Save for the Soul,” which is a touching story about an American veteran who searches for peace of mind after years of being obsessed by memories of war.

Two Vietnamese films that won the Golden Kite Award 2007, “Brain” by director Nguyen Thuoc and “Mother, I’m Home” by Phan Huyen Thu, will be introduced at 3pm on November 8.

“The Day After,” directed by Mai The Chien will be screened at 7pm on November 25, along with two French documentaries, “Childhood” and “Svyato”.

“No Sun” by Chris, which is considered a masterpiece of French documentaries will play at 7pm on November 18.

Other films that will be introduced in November include: “Legend about Neighbor” (7pm, November 11), “Countryman” (3pm, November 15), “Diary before Birthday” (4pm, November 22), “Where is my Friend’s House” (7pm, November 24).
