Exhibition to bring smiles to children’s faces

VietNamNet BridgeStarting this Friday seven artists will join hands for an exhibition and auction to raise funds for children with harelips and cleft palates.

The artists, who include Ngo Thai Uyen, Ho Cong Khanh, Huynh Ngoc Dan and Nguyen Than, will bring more than 40 paintings, photographs and calligraphy works to the Hoa Quyen (fusion) exhibition.

An auction will be held during the opening session for seven of the artists’ favourite works. Money earned through the auction will be contributed to Operation Smiles (Viet Nam), a charity organisation which provides free operations for children suffering from harelips and cleft palates.

The remaining works will also be offered for sale during the exhibition. The funds from these sales will go to Operation Smiles (Viet Nam) after the deduction of copyright and organising fees.

The exhibition’s organiser New Link Viet Nam Co, said that around 100 disfigured children were expected to have surgery thanks to the artists’ kindness.

Around 3,000 children are born with harelips and cleft palates each year in Viet Nam.

“The exhibition and auction will be held at the HCM City Exhibition House, 92 Le Thanh Ton Street, District 1. The opening ceremony will begin at 17.30.

The event is scheduled to run through December 16.
