HCMC teen to compete in international model pageant

A first-year college student from Ho Chi Minh City will attend the Miss Teen 2008-World Super Model pageant this month in Australia. | |||||||
The VietModel Company has chosen 18-year-old model Dao Thi Uyen Thao, from the HCMC University of Social Sciences and Humanities, as the Vietnamese representative for the contest. Thao will don a homegrown Son Collection gown for the evening gala-wear portion of the competition; an ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress) by local designer Thuan Viet for the traditional costume portion; and she will dance to a northern Vietnamese folk song in the talent section. Vietnam’s Tran Thanh Long, director of the P.L Model Company, has been invited to sit on the event’s judging panel. The fifth annual pageant will run from December 7-12 on Queensland’s Gold Coast.
