Japanese singers take Vietnam by storm

VietNamNet BridgeJapanese and Vietnamese singers will perform together at the Million Heartbeat concert in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City on Dec. 28 and 30.

Japanese artists include famous singers Shion Miyawaki, Yuko Asami, and the band Gypsy Queens.

Vietnamese singers include, Ho Ngoc Ha; Ho Quynh Huong, Ha Anh Tuan, Tra My, and rock band Unlimited.

Shion Miyawaki is a talented singer and won the AVEX, a prestigious music competition in Japan , getting over 15,000 votes. She will perform four songs: Flavour, You’re A Butterfly, Story and Talk To Me.

Yuko Asami, a member of the girl band Yellow Generation will sing five songs after the opening performance by Vietnamese rock band Unlimited. Yuko won Japan’s New Artist of the Year in 2003.

The Yellow Generation band’s lead vocalist embarked on a solo career in 2006. Her band’s second album North Wind and Sun reached the top 10 in Japan.

Yuko is expected to sing her greatest hits Warainagara, One More Time, Itsuka and Thank You on the night.

Japan’s leading rock group The Gypsy Queens will be performing a cover of the famous Beatle song Hey Jude.

The band has played in over 80 tours in Asian countries and performs songs in various languages like Mandarin, Cantonese, Mongolian, Laotian, Malaysian, Thai and Vietnamese. The band performed in Vietnam in 2006 and 2007.

Vietnamese singers will perform rock, dance and pop music songs composed by veteran musician Duong Thu and developing artists Duc Tri, Ho Hoai Anh and Tuan Khanh.

The event is being jointly held by the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to mark the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan.
