According to director Vuong Duc, box offices agreed to introduce “Black Forest” at this “hot” time because of the movie’s artistic quality and spiritual content. “Revenue will be surely be less than imported films but let’s see the appearance of Black Forest as a move promoting the development of the local movie industry,” Duc said.

This is considered a move for local movies because this is one of few local films that is widely praised for its artistic aspects and will be introduced to the audience at modern cinemas, as a commercial product.

Black Forest” is based on a book by Le Ngoc Linh. This is a desperate look of man’s spoiling of his living environment. The film went to Megastar, Toan Thang and Tan Son Nhat cinemas as of December 24. It will have to compete with famous Hollywood movies, such as Four Christmases, Twilight, Transporter 3, The Day The Earth Stood Still, Australia, and the 3D animation movie “Bolt.”
