Vietnam’s representative Duong Truong Thien Ly at the Miss World 2008 pageant in South Africa

Vietnam Television’s VTV3 channel will broadcast the finale of Miss World 2008 live from South Africa’s Johannesburg at 10 p.m. tonight.

Some award winners have already been named, including Beach Beauty Ana Gabriela Espinoza Marroquin from Mexico, Miss Fashion Kseniya Sukhinova from Russia, Miss Sport Alexandra Helga from Iceland and Miss Talent Natalie Olivia Griffith from Barbados.

Viewers are still voting for Miss People’s Choice on the www.missworld.com website and the winner of Beauty With A Purpose honor will be announced at the finale.

Vietnamese beauty Duong Truong Thien Ly has not received any honor so far and her rating on missworld.com is much lower than contestants from the US, Russia, Venezuela, India, Indonesia and the Philippines.

Ly said she feels regret for having little time to prepare for the world’s biggest beauty pageant.

With a modest height of 1.67 meters, she is unlikely to win the crown, she said.

South African, Russian, Mexican and Indian beauties are considered to have the highest chance to become Miss World 2008, according to globalbeauties.com.
