Mai Dinh Toi plays a water-pipe trumpet. Toi is one of the odd artists who will perform in a new show in Ho Chi Minh City on Friday

The first performance of a unique vaudeville show will be held in Ho Chi Minh City on Friday.

Organizers said the Chuyen la bon phuong (Oddly enough) show will bring together a disparate bunch of people – like Tong Son, who performs harmonica with his nose while eating bananas or drinking beer, Xuan Dieu, who can spray milk or blow balloons up with his eyes and Quoc Cuong, who eats lamps, snakes and fish.

Others to take the stage will include Mai Dinh Toi, who is famous for his whacky musical instruments made from common household items and Ly Bang who can lift full buckets of water with his eyes.

Audiences can also see original items and collections of local artists, including a scooter autographed by 400 Vietnamese artists and a leopard-themed decorated helmet belonging to comedian Tan Beo, organizers said.

The show, produced by Y Tuong Moi (New Ideas) Company and Cau Vong Theater, will begin at 8 p.m. at 126 Cach Mang Thang Tam Street in District 10.

Similar performances will be held every three months at the theater, organizers said.
