The cinema is a part of the CT plaza shopping and entertainment complex opposite Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

MegaStar cineplexes took $7 million of this year’s national box office takings of $12 million.

Established as a joint venture between US company Envoy and Phuong Nam Corporation in 2005, MegaStar now has a network of six cinemas across the country (two in HCMC, one in Dong Nai, one in Hanoi, one in Hai Phong and one in Da Nang).

The company plans to open a seventh cineplex at Saigon Paragon center in District 7 in January.

Brian Hall, MegaStar CEO, told Thanh Nien Daily his company was planning to establish 14 cinemas in Vietnam by the end of 2010.
