VietNamNet Bridge - The publication of the book ‘The Tales of Beedle the Bard’ written by J. W. Rowling and translated by Ly Lan was announced by the Tre (Youth) Publishing House in a press release in Ho Chi Minh City on December 18.

The book is the 8th installment of the Harry Potter series, written by author Rowling with the aim of donating the profits to a charity fund for children in Europe.

With the publication of full sets of the Harry Potter series, the Tre (Youth) Publishing House will donate a part of their profits to poor children on the occasion of Christmas 2008.

The book ‘The Tales of Beedle the Bard’ as well as the Harry Potter series are written in an imaginary world, but they convey to children a healthy sense of real-world moral and cultural values, said translator Ly Lan.

The Tre (Youth) Publishing House earned over VND61.2 billion in 2008, VND5.5 billion more than in 2007, from the printing of more than 6.6 million copies of nearly 2 million book titles.
