Anh Tuyet, who is famous for singing pre-war songs, and her band, the ATB are about to have their first shows at the Hanoi Friendship Palace from January 29-31.

They will bring the show to the ancient capital city of Hue city on February 2-3, at the Hung Dao Theatre; to the central city of Da Nang on February 4-6, at the Trung Vuong Theatre; to the Quang Trung Theatre in Quy Nhon City on February 7-8; at the Hai Dang Cultural House in Nha Trang City on February 9-10 and to the Hoa Binh Theatre, HCM City on February 14 and 28.

The singer prepared two programs entitled “Singing for Compassion” and “Calling Four Seasons” for her trans-Vietnam tour. The “Singing for Compassion” includes up to fifty songs and epics by songwriters Pham Duy, Pham Dinh Chuong, Van Phung, Van Cao, Doan Chuan, Trinh Hung, Y Van, Hoang Nguyen, Le Trong Nguye, Ngo Thuy Mien, Tran Tien, Quoc Dung, Duc Huy, Tu Huy and Phan Ba Chuc. The “Calling Four Seasons” has thirty-five songs.

Each show will feature over twenty songs, depending on the situation and the audience’s request. These songs have been performed for several years at Anh Tuyet’s ATB night club.

The shows will not be supported by lights or sound magic, but focus on music only.

“I want to bring to the audience only the music, not show-off,” the singer said.

The whole team will include forty people, including singers, musicians, dancers and assistants. The two shows in HCM City will have more dancers, Tuyet revealed.

The singer said the show does not have any sponsors and it depends on the audience’s love of the show. The show is a way to measure the audience’s love for ATB and herself, Tuyet said.

In late 2001, Anh Tuyet and ATB performed for five nights at the Hanoi Friendship Palace through “Hoi Trung Duong” and “From Suoi Mo to Thien Thai” programs. At that time, the audience in the theatre was completely full.

“I’m eager to see my Hanoian audience again,” Anh Tuyet said.

Seven years ago, Anh Tuyet cooperated with a choral society of the HCM City Conservatory of Music. In the coming tour, solo singers will sing in parts with Anh Tuyet. The tour will also feature four singers who are familiar at HCM City’s night clubs, namely Quynh Lan, Phi Thuy Hanh, Minh Thao and Hoang Trung.

Anh Tuyet also believes that young and new singers Le Anh, Duy Hung and Thuy Huyen who will be introduced this time will impress the audience.

Other members of the tour include The Vinh, who plays guitar with one hand and has just returned from Germany after a trip to raise fund for Vietnamese AO child victims, and Richard Fuller, an American singer. Fuller has a Vietnamese named Tran Phong Phu. He came to Vietnam in 1969. He is an English teacher for the Caravel Hotel in HCM City. Fuller has sung at the ATB night club for two years.
