VietNamNet Bridge - A festival celebrating the lunar New Year is being held at the Ho Chi Minh City Youth’s Culture House from now until January 30.

The event includes various cultural activities such as Don ca tai tu Nam bo (southern amateur music) festival, Kylin-Lion-Dragon dance festival, Vietnamese tea culture introducing local brands, Banh tet (glutinous new-year’s rice cake) festival, musical performances and fashion shows.

Children are also catered for with sport and traditional folk games. Meanwhile people can get lucky words from calligraphers at the calligraphy street on Pham Ngoc Thach’s pavement.

Additionally, 80 photos of the Spring and the country’s achievements in the renewal period and 150 newspapers and magazines exhibiting on Tet holidays are displayed in exhibition from January 15 to 30.

The organization board will also give ‘lucky’ money to 2,000 disadvantaged children of open houses in the city. They hope to bring warm holidays to citizens and people who can not go home for Tet.
