Lookatvietnam - Eminent photographers Christopher Makos and Paul Solberg, who collaborate as ‘The Hilton Brothers’, made a short stop at the Sheraton Saigon and Towers on January 16.

The pair is currently filming a documentary about legendary artist Andy Warhol with Canal+.

Their HCM City stopover followed an extensive trip through China.

“It is great to see luminaries of the international art world coming to Vietnam, and everyone at the Sheraton Saigon is extremely proud to be hosting Makos and Solberg on their visit to HCM City,” said Sheraton’s general manager, Dietmar Kielnhofer.

American photographer and artist Christopher Makos apprenticed with the legendary photographer, Man Ray, in Paris. He also collaborated with Andy Warhol, who dubbed him the “most modern photographer in America.”

Makos introduced Warhol to the work of both JeanMichel Basquiat and Keith Haring. He also published several books on the pop art icon. His photographs of Warhol, Haring, Tennessee Williams and others have been auctioned regularly at Sotheby’s.

Makos’s work is in the permanent collections of more than 100 museums and major private collections, including those of Malcolm Forbes, Pedro Almodovar, and Gianni Versace.

His partner, Paul Solberg, is also an accomplished photographer who has published numerous books and is best known for his flower series in the book Bloom.

The pair have written and photographed for magazines such as Interview, Rolling Stone, House&Garden, Connoisseur, New York Magazine, Esquire, Genre, Conde Nast Traveler and People.
