Lookatvietnam - A two-night show by emerging dancer Vuong Linh Nga will be the first ever solo dance performance at Ha Noi Opera House.

Vietnamese and Chinese dances will be performed by soloist Linh Nga, one of the most talented dancers in Viet Nam.

The 100-minute show will open with a young girl bidding farewell to her family and friends as she goes to live in China. The young girl is played by dancer Linh Nga.

Linh Nga has returned home from dancing studies at the Beijing Institute of Dancing.

The story of the female protagonist’s journey to China will be expressed through Vietnamese and Chinese dance.

In the first part, Linh Nga will show-off her prize-winning dance moves. Ethnic Chinese classical dances by choreographers Wu Hoan and Liu Xi will be performed in colourful costumes. Linh Nga and two Chinese artists will dance to the famous Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

Two classic Chineses folk dances Phat Ba Quan Am (Bodhisattva Kwan Yin) and Qua Quyt Vang (Yellow Tangerine) will be performed by Linh Nga and dancers from the Bong Sen Traditional Music and Dance Theatre.

Throughout this part of the show the stage will filled with red lanterns, splashing Ha Noi Opera House with the colours of China.

A story about Viet Nam, the country and the people, will be told through dances performed by Dang Hung, Vuong Linh and Linh Nga, accompanied by music from composer Quoc Trung.

“I want to introduce the diverse and colourful art of China’s dances, as well as Vietnamese dances, combining the traditional with the modern,” said Linh Nga.

She wants all 15 dances in the show to continuously surprise and charm the audiences.

The young dancer has been preparing for the show for a year with 70 other dancers from the Bong Sen Theatre, Little Star Dance Troupe and China’s Guangxi Dance School.

At the age of 12, Linh Nga left for China to study at the Guangxi Dance School and the Beijing Institute of Dancing for ten years.

She has won prizes in competitions in Guangzhou, Hangzhou and Beijing. She also took gold at the Viet Nam National Song and Dance Contest in 2005.

Dance will open at 7.30pm today and tomorrow by invitation only.
